Privacy Policy
SnapDragon Dental Labs — last updated July 18, 2026
This policy explains how SnapDragon Dental Labs ("SnapDragon," "we," "us") handles personal information in connection with the SnapDragon Lab applications (iOS and Android) and the SnapDragon web portal (together, the "Service"), including the SMS text messages we send to our own delivery drivers. The Service is a case-tracking and lab-management tool used by our laboratory staff and by the dental practices we work with.
Who this applies to
This policy covers everyone who uses the Service: SnapDragon Dental Labs staff, and the dental practices we work with who submit and track cases through it. Access requires an account we approve — the Service is not intended for the general public. Our SMS notification program described below applies only to staff members designated as delivery drivers; we do not send text messages to dental practices, patients, or anyone outside our own staff.
Information we collect
Account information. When an account is created we collect a name, email address, an assigned role, and (for staff who provide one) a phone number. Phone numbers are provided by the staff member themselves, or entered by a lab administrator on their behalf, as part of their profile.
Case and patient information. Dental practices submit case details through the Service, which may include a patient reference or name, case type, tooth information, clinical notes, and file attachments such as scans, images, or documents. This information is entered by the practice for the purpose of fabricating and tracking dental restorations.
Messages and case notes. Direct messages, case notes, and attachments sent through the Service are stored so they can be delivered to and displayed for the intended recipients.
Precise location (delivery drivers, opt-in only). If a staff member is designated as a delivery driver and turns on location tracking themselves in the app, we collect the device's precise location while that person is clocked in for a shift. Location is never collected when the person is off the clock, has not opted in, or has turned tracking off, and is retained only for a limited period.
Device and technical information. To deliver push notifications we use a third-party service (OneSignal) that assigns a device-level push identifier. We also keep basic sign-in logs (time, platform) for security and support.
How we use information
- To operate the Service — submitting, tracking, updating, printing, and delivering dental cases.
- To let authorized users communicate about cases.
- To send operational notifications (a case status change, a new message, a pickup request).
- To calculate internal records such as staff hours and billing between the lab and its practices.
- To secure the Service and troubleshoot problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or for tracking across other apps or websites.
How we use SMS text messaging
We operate one SMS program: an automated notification sent to staff members designated as delivery drivers when a dental practice has cases ready for pickup. A typical message looks like:
"SnapDragon: 3 cases ready for pickup at Example Dental."
These messages are purely operational — they exist to tell a driver where they're needed. We do not use SMS for marketing, promotions, or any purpose other than this specific pickup notification. Only staff members an administrator has designated as a driver, and who have a phone number on file, receive these messages.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on how many pickup requests come in — typically a handful of messages per working day, only on days a designated driver is actively working.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text notifications, or HELP for help. You can also ask a lab administrator to remove your driver designation or phone number from our system at any time. Opting out of SMS does not affect your employment or any other system access — you'll continue receiving pickup information through the app instead.
How we share information
Information is visible only to the appropriate authorized users based on their role and their relationship to a case (for example, a practice sees its own cases; lab staff see the cases they work on). We share information with service providers who host and power the Service, and only so they can perform that function on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage hosting.
- OneSignal — push-notification delivery.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Twilio — SMS delivery (see the SMS program above).
We share phone numbers only with Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, solely to transmit these messages, and with mobile carriers as necessary to deliver a text to your device. We do not sell, rent, or share staff phone numbers or other personal information with any other third party for marketing purposes.
Health information
Some information entered by dental practices may relate to a patient's dental care. SnapDragon acts as a service provider to those practices for the handling of that information and limits its use to providing the Service. Practices remain responsible for their own obligations regarding patient information.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as an account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations. Location history is automatically deleted after a limited retention period. To request deletion of an account and its associated personal information, contact us at the address below; we will process the request subject to any records we are required to keep.
Security
Access to information is restricted by account role and enforced at the database level, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information in our care.
Children
The Service is a business tool, is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top.
